THAI D'LISH

Kimberly and I love Thai food, so when we heard about this place in Quincy, called Thai D’Lish, we were super excited. On a whim one day, we decided to try it out. However, when we drove by, the location was a little intimidating because there didn’t seem to be easy parking or an accessible entrance. We decided to go somewhere else. Then, I kept hearing about Thai D’Lish from coworkers and friends, so I decided to give them a call and ask about their accessibility. I quickly found out that if we brought our portable entry door ramp, we should be about to get in the building. So, last Saturday, we decided to check them out.

First, the positives. The staff was very friendly and happy to assist me with opening a door that would make it easier for Kimberly to get into the restaurant using her ramp. Inside the restaurant, there was ample space and a fun atmosphere. The food was delicious!

Next, the not so positives. Parking was not ideal; there were no designated spaces for wheelchair users so Kimberly had to wait behind a parked vehicle while I backed up in order to have room to deploy the ramp. Plus I had to block traffic while she got loaded. Also, although the bathrooms were roomy, there were no grab bars or anything that would help someone with mobility issues use the facilities.

Overall, as a wheelchair family, we probably wouldn’t go back. Which is disappointing because I would love to try more things on their menu. I did see people getting takeout, so maybe we will do that instead. It might also make a difference if Thai D’Lish had their own ramp to use so I didn’t have to pack mine from the car and back.
