Mizzou Arena

In February, Chairing My Adventures were able to go to the Mizzou Arena to cheer on the Tigers as they went on to win against Alabama. It was an awesome game! I wish I could say we had an awesome experience. We have only gone to a couple of Mizzou Basketball games and have always had a great time. We have sat in Section 104 and 112 with no problems. The ADA seating is above the stadium style seating, so we had no issues. This time, we were assigned Section 110, behind one of the baskets. For a wheelchair user, these seats are terrible. Please notice in the pictures that Kimberly mostly had a view of the people standing in front of her. If everyone sat down, then it wasn't a problem. However, I'm sure you can imagine what it was like at this high profile, exciting game. There was a big screen she could watch, but we could do that at home. It was just so disappointing. I couldn't believe they sell these tickets to people in wheelchairs. We made the most of it and had fun, but I now know which sections to buy tickets in. I did call the box office and expressed my concerns. I invited them to sit in those seats during a game and not to able to stand or move to see better. They assured me that they would let the right people know. They did offer one good piece of advice: If we are having an issue with our seats, we can always go to the ticket office and explain. If they have anything else available, they would let us move there. To be honest, I hadn't even thought of doing that. But I will from now on. M-I-Z!
